Park in the parking lot for the Big Bend Visitor Center at Chisos Basin. We should be somewhere near the convenience store.

The Hike: The hike is a loop to the South Rim with an optional out-and-back excursion up to Emory Peak on the way down. The climb to Emory Peak adds three miles and 700 feet of elevation gain to the numbers above. It's a long and hard hike but doable if we take the climbs slowly.
