Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail (Mexia, TX)
Details
The Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail covers about 5.3 miles of quiet water on the Navasota River and ends at the Fort Parker State Park. The route is characterized by hardwood bottomlands and limestone bluffs. The river has very low flow, so will feel more like paddling a lake than a river.
As always, you'll need:
- kayak or paddleboard (although the park rents canoes and kayaks if you need one)
- PFD
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Water and snacks
Mexia is about 2.5 hours away, so you may want to carpool with others in the group once we see who's signed up.
