Walk at Sly Park

Details
It has been suggested by several members to do the walk up at Sly Park Recreation area. There is a trail all around the lake, 8.2 miles, but this walk is shorter--about 1.5 to 2 miles. There is a parking lot towards the eastern end of the lake. Then, after crossing the foot bridge, there is a relatively flat trail. The walk up to the waterfall is uphill but not strenuous. If you don't want to walk up, you can stay on the flat area. We can meet at the little store parking lot across from the gate to enter. The cost is per car, not by person. It's either $10 or $11 for seniors and a bit more for younger folks. We can fill cars to go through the gate. If you like longer walks, you can continue on the trail past the area to go to the waterfall or you can do the 8.2 around the lake. There are picnic tables and restrooms near the parking lot, so we could bring a picnic lunch to have after the walk. It is cooler in Pollock Pines than here so a morning walk is usually great and there is shade on the trail. We can carpool if members are in our living area. I mean 9:45 up at the lake, not when to leave home.
