How does the City & County of Honolulu calculate how much to charge us for property taxes? What is it based on?

Hawaii Real Estate Investors (HIREI) is excited hear all the answers! Listen in as we are taught how our property is assessed its value, how the property taxes are calculated, and what you will need to know when you buy a property for resale, or to rent, when it comes to property taxes. The tax that your seller pays may not be the amount that you will pay. A representative of the City & County of Honolulu will show us how property taxes are calculated, what you will need to know about how those tax amounts could change when you purchase the property for investment, and what changes may be on the horizon.

Please note that our presenter will be representing the City & County of Honolulu Real Property Assessment Office. He is not a policy maker, nor will he have the ability to take ideas or complaints back to change policy. He is simply here to teach us how it works. Doors will open at 5:30pm. General Meeting starts at 6pm.
