Every now and then, the universe tosses you a breadcrumb, and if you’re paying attention, you follow it. Today it came in the form of a Chinese woman I met—sharp, warm, who talks about food like it’s sacred. She told me about this place she loves, real Chinese cooking. So now I’m headed there with her and her friend. We’re going all in, family style—piling the table high with meats, seafood, vegetables, dishes that bite back with Sichuan heat. Everyone throws down a little cash and no one clings to their own plate. If you're into that kind of thing—come hungry.
