The Challenge of Enterprise Federated Search - Sid Probstein, Swirl Metasearch

What have you heard about enterprise federated search? Historically, it wasn’t useful - because:
* Integrating with on-premises enterprise applications was complicated
* Accounting for search syntax capability differences was difficult
* Intelligently re-ranking disparate, terse responses was impossible

Today, most enterprise workloads are in the cloud, using documented search APIs and common authentication mechanisms like OAuth2 and SSO. The rise of LLM-based AI makes it easy to contextualize content and rank it using approaches like vector similarity. In this talk Sid Probstein, creator of Swirl Metasearch, will detail how and why he combined open source components like spaCy, Querqy and Spyglass to modernize federated search and apply it to business challenges -- including a case study from the maritime industry.
