NC Arboretum 4.5 Mile Moderate-to-Difficult Walk including Owl Ridge Road

Just inside the gate you will find a parking area on the left. We will meet there at 9:00 a.m. We'll walk the Old Mill Trail and Bent Creek Road. We will return by way of Rocky Cove Road, Owl Ridge Road, and Hard Times Road. In total it is about 7 KM/4.5 miles.

Dress for the weather. Walking poles are a good idea as there are large hills and somewhat difficult roadways. Light hiking boots are a good idea. Be sure to bring water and a protein snack.

Dogs on leash are welcome, but are not allowed in buildings or the Bonsai Exhibit, should you want to stay and explore the Arboretum further. Strollers are not recommended this time.

The NC Arboretum does not have an admission fee, but they charge $20 per car parking fee (so pack as many people in your car as you can). We recommend annual membership which includes free parking.
