Memorial Day: Biltmore Estate Walk—Gardens in Bloom!

Details
Some couldn't meet us for the May 3 walk and asked us to schedule it again. There was an opening for a Memorial Day walk, so we scheduled it then.
Grounds admission to the Biltmore Estate is required; we recommend an annual pass. We walk at Biltmore about 7 times each year, and many of our MeetUp members walk there even more.
The walk starts at 9:30 a.m. from the front of the Biltmore House on the left front corner as you face the house. If you have to stop at the Ticketing Center that morning, let us know so we can wait for you to arrive.
This walk is not suited to strollers or wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed inside the House, though they are allowed on the grounds.
The walk will be 5 KM/3.1 miles. It passes through gardens on often and seldom used trails and goes to the Bass Pond. It then returns to the House by a different route. I use my walking stick on the return uphill journey, though many won't need one.
Add the House tour at additional cost for an extra 2 KM.
Bring water and a protein snack. The walk proceeds rain or shine, dress appropriately. Some of this walk is on natural surface trails, so if the ground is wet you may want hiking boots or at least tennis shoes you don't mind getting muddy.
