Walk the Morganton Greenway, including a New Section

We will be joining the Asheville Amblers Walking Club for their walk on the Morganton Greenway. This is a free walk, although the Amblers accept donations ($4 suggested). There may also be walkers from other groups there, including AARP, Stryder, and more.

The walk will be 7+ KM/4.3+ miles. The walk will start in the parking lot by Town Tavern, 315 Sanford Dr. We will met at 9 for registration with step off at 9:30.

This is a pleasant walk along the Catawba River with its rapids, smooth flowing areas, grassy areas with Frisbee Golf Course, and shaded walkways. We will also pass the recently (July 21) completed portion of the greenway with its pavilions and sports areas. The course is flat and paved.

Dress for the weather; consider a hat and sunscreen. Tennis shoes should be fine. I will take a walking stick just in case, but don't expect to use it. Dogs are welcome. Strollers should be fine. As always, bring plenty of water and a protein snack.

It is likely a group of walkers will go to lunch together. Feel free to join the meal.
