Biltmore Estate: Walk the Westover Green and Blue Trails

Details

Located at The Inn on Biltmore Estate, the Westover Green and Blue Trails provide access to some of Biltmore's beautiful woodlands. We will loop the Green Trail in a clockwise direction, pick up the Blue Trail to walk its entire length, and then go back to get the rest of the Green Trail.

I estimate this to be about 4.5 miles. The Green Trail is wide. The Blue Trail is of moderate width. These are relatively easy trails. There is a little elevation change, but nothing particularly strenuous.

When you drive to the Inn, you will turn onto its access road. Near the entrance to the Inn is the entrance to the parking area. There are two rows of parking, an upper row closer to the Inn, and a lower row a little further from the Inn. We will gather on the lower row at the far end (away from the Inn).

If you need a restroom prior to the walk, Antler Hill is very close and there are public restrooms there. No restroom facilities are available during the walk.

Dress appropriately for the weather. Tennis shoes are fine, unless it has rained a lot recently, in which case you will probably want light hiking boots. Most won't want walking sticks, though I plan to take just one. As always, bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dogs on leash are welcome. Strollers designed for trail use would be ok.

There is a grounds admission fee. We walk at Biltmore several times each year, so an annual grounds pass is highly recommended.

Many regular Biltmore guests have never walked the Westover Trails. I think you will enjoy these.
