Pisgah Forest/Brevard NC—Estatoe Trail River Walk—5 KM/3 mi. or 10 KM/6 mi. Walk

Details
This is a free walk in Transylvania County. We will amble along shaded pathways beside the Davidson River which includes a portion of the Estatoe Trail, used by the Cherokee as a trade route between western NC and SC. There will be a nature trail and quiet, peaceful scenes.
This is a beginner walk, little elevation change, on well-groomed trails. Tennis shoes are fine, though some might want hiking boots. Walking sticks are not needed, though some might choose to bring them; I plan to use one stick.
Please bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dress for the temperature and weather; consider a hat and sunscreen. Dogs are welcome.
We will be walking with the Asheville Amblers Walking Club, AARP, Stryder, and perhaps some others. Registration is in the Lowe's, Brevard, parking lot at 9:00 a.m., with step-off at 9:30. There are bathrooms inside Lowe's, but none on the trail.
After the walk, you are invited to join the group for a Bring Your Own Picnic at Dolly's Dairy Bar & Gift Shop. (Dolly's has superb ice cream! There is a sandwich shop close by.) Dolly's has a picnic area where the group will gather.
