National Crème Filled Doughnut Day: 5 KM/3 mile Counter-clockwise Walk in Canton

For National Crème Filled Doughnut Day, I will bring the doughnuts. You bring the companionship and excitement for our time walking together.

The start/finish point is the parking lot for the Rec Park baseball field. The field was destroyed by Hurricane Helene, but the parking area is still there. Hopefully, some of the Clyde Elementary School Cardinals Elite Walking Team and their families will be joining us for this event.

We will start our walk at the Canton Recreation Park, go past Pisgah High School, then up to the public library and the historic cemetery. From there we will journey down Academy Street, through part of downtown, and back to the Rec Park. The up and down are fairly steep.

Dress appropriately for the weather.. Tennis shoes are fine. This is all pavement, but some might want walking sticks for the up and down; I will plan to walk with a pair of walking sticks. Bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dogs on leash are welcome.
