Visit the Formal and Informal Gardens at the NC Arboretum + It's Plant Sale Day!

Details
This event is being hosted by the Asheville Amblers Walking Club, with participation from several other groups including AARP, Stryder, the Cardinals Elite Walking Team, and our MeetUp group.
Meet for registration inside the Baker Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m. with step-off at 9:30 a.m. The walk is free, although the Amblers do accept donations (suggested donation, $4.00.) Restrooms are available at the start point.
Choose between two guided walks, a 5 KM/3.1 mile (somewhat slower paced) walk and a 10 KM/6.2 mile (faster paced) walk. Both walks feature some significant hills or stair climbing. A significant part of both routes is on somewhat difficult terrain (rocky/rooted paths).
Both walks include both formal and informal gardens, including the Bonsai Exhibit and the National Azalea Garden. Both walks follow roads and trails through the woods and along a fast-flowing stream where large trout hide under a bridge.
At the end you can enjoy the annual plant show and sale.
Dress for the weather. Some may want walking poles. Sneakers should be fine. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a protein snack.
Dogs on leash are welcome, but are not allowed in buildings or the Bonsai Exhibit. Trail strollers should be ok.
The NC Arboretum does not have an admission fee, but they charge $20 per car parking fee (so pack as many people in your car as you can). We recommend for the driver to purchase the lowest level annual membership which includes free parking. (Of course, you may want a higher level membership, your choice.)
