Choose Between a 5 KM/3.1 Mile and a 10 KM/6.2 Mile Guided Waynesville Walk

We will be joining the Asheville Amblers, AARP, Stryder, the Cardinals Elite Walking Team, and perhaps some others for this event. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with step-off at 10:00. The walk is free, although the Amblers do accept donations (suggested donation $4.00).

Meet in front of Mast General Store, 63 N. Main St., Waynesville NC 28786. The walks go past public art, Civil War sites, along the Waynesville Greenway, and more. The 10 KM walk adds Town Hall, the historic Frog Level area and a peaceful cemetery with spectacular views.

Note: the 5 KM walk will be at a slightly slower pace. The 10 KM walk will be at a slightly faster pace.

There are some hills, so some may want walking poles (I will be taking both of mine); sneakers should be fine. Dogs are welcome. Strollers should be ok, though it will require one or two work-arounds. Bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Parking is easier a block to either side of Main Street. Mast General Store doesn't have a public restroom, but we can direct you to one nearby should you need it.

Many people go out to eat together after this walk. You will want to shop at Mast General Store and several other downtown shops. The last time we did this walk, people were asking about the availability of ice cream and chocolates.
