5 KM/3 mile Sunday Afternoon Walk in Canton
Details
The start/finish point is the parking lot for the Rec Park baseball field. The field was destroyed by Hurricane Helene, but the parking area is still there. Hopefully, some of the Clyde Elementary School Cardinals Elite Walking Team and their families will be joining us for this event.
We will start our walk at the Canton Recreation Park, go through part of downtown, up Academy Street, past the historic cemetery and the public library, past Pisgah High School, and back to the start point. The up and down are fairly steep.
Dress appropriately for the weather. Tennis shoes are fine. This is all pavement, but some might want walking sticks for the up and down; I will plan to walk with a pair of walking sticks. Bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Dogs on leash are welcome.
