Updated: The Biltmore Farm Trail Is Fairly Flat and a 6 Mile Round Trip—Join Us!
Details
Update: The Farm Trail and the Arbor Trace Trail are currently closed (as of March 8). If still closed on May 2, we will walk the Lagoon Trail instead. The start point is the same, but the distance is shorter.
In front of the Antler Hill Barn, by the Playground, there is a picnic shelter known as the Antler Hill Pavillion. We will meet there at 9:30 a.m.
We will walk the seldom-done Farm Trail along the French Broad River edge of the estate property, mostly out and back. Biltmore says it is a 6-mile (10 KM) round trip.
Dress for the weather. Bring a protein snack and water. Walking sticks only if you want them since the walk will be mostly level. Tennis shoes should be okay, unless it has rained a lot recently, in which case light hiking boots would be better. Dogs are welcome. Trail strollers should work ok.
You will need a grounds pass, so arrive no later than 9 a.m. to purchase it and let me know so we will wait to start the walk until you have joined us. We actually recommend the purchase of an annual pass, as we will be walking on the estate grounds several times in the coming year.
