Gather at Lake Junaluska in the parking lot of the Bethea Welcome Center. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. with step-off at 9:00. For these walks, we are joining with the Asheville Amblers, Stryder, AARP, and perhaps some others. The Lake campus is particularly beautiful this time of year. You won't want to miss it.

Choose between a 7 KM/4 mile or a 10 KM/6 mile route. The shorter route goes at a slower pace and the longer route at a faster pace. These walks go not just around the lake, but up a steep hill to Lambuth Inn, back down a different way, along the Rose Walk, and through the Native Garden. The 10 KM walk also includes the hills of the Junaluska Heights neighborhood with its grand, beautifully landscaped homes.

Dress for the weather; consider a hat and sunscreen. Some people may want walking poles; tennis shoes should be fine. It is recommended walkers bring a protein snack and plenty of water. Restrooms are available at the Welcome Center and along the route. Dogs on leash are welcome. Strollers are ok, with one or two simple work-arounds.

Many of our walkers will enjoy lunch at one of the fine restaurants in Waynesville—Angelos, Sweet Onion, etc. Why not make a day's outing of it?
