HUG9: March HBase User Group at Mozilla

Details

This HUG is kindly being sponsored and hosted by Mozilla in Mountain View. Pizza and soda will be provided.

For this HUG we will have fewer presentations to keep things shorter and allow for more networking and Q&A.

The final schedule for HUG9:

HBase Update by Jonathan Gray
Hadoop and HBase at Mozilla by Daniel Einspanjer of Mozilla
HDFS and HBase by Todd Lipcon of Cloudera
HBase on EC2 by Andrew Purtell of Trend Micro

After the meetup we will likely head over to Tied House Brewery near the Mozilla offices in Mountain View (https://www.tiedhouse.... (https://www.tiedhouse.com/)).

A note from our host, Daniel Einspanjer of Mozilla:

Mozilla wants to host this meeting to acquaint ourselves better with the local HBase community. We are using HBase and the Cloudera distribution of Hadoop in the rollout of a large project to enhance the scalability and feature set of our Socorro crash-reports service ( https://code.google.co... (https://code.google.com/p/socorro/) ).

Mozilla is located in downtown Mountain View ( https://www.mozilla.co... (https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/about/contact.html) ). We will provide pizza and soda for the group. If you will be coming in late or going outside for smoke breaks, please have a cell phone handy to get buzzed into the building.
