Mara Outer Loop Trail

Hike Description: This is a 5 km trail of medium difficulty that takes you through the sage brush hills of Mt Mara. There are no trees so it is hot in the summer, hence a great hike for fall when the temperatures are cooler. The whole route is scenic with many opportunities for photos of the Thompson river flowing into Kamloops Lake.

Where to go: Travel west along Tranquille Rd past the Kamloops Golf Club. When you arrive at a fork in the road at Tranquille Farm keep right onto Tranquille Criss Creek Road. You will cross the CN Railway tracks , and the trail head is a just past the tracks. Look for our Red Toyota Tacoma pickup.

Things to Know: Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear comfortable socks and hiking shoes/boots or shoes with good grip. Bring water and a snack.
