Women in Motion

In this session of the Healers Connection, you will discover the healing power of your own motion. Carla Frank will inspire you with the mental, physical and emotional benefits of exercise while professional dancer Irena Nickels will introduce you to the Cosmic movements of Pan EuRhythmy, a communal dance that uses sacred geometry and music to heal yourself and the world.

Carla Frank is an accidental athlete. She literally failed physical education in school and spent most of her life behind a desk or on the couch until she decided to walk a marathon to commemorate her 40th birthday. Since then, she has participated in more than 130 races including 20 full marathons, 3 marathons in 3 days, and an Ironman triathlon. Carla is passionate about helping women of all shapes, sizes, and physical abilities achieve their own athletic potential and uplift their lives. She supports women in creating a stronger, fitter, and more powerful self-image through partnering with their bodies, and embracing an active lifestyle for more personal joy, stamina, and overall well-being.

Irena Nickels was introduced to the Pan Eu Rhythmy in 1998 by Ardella Nathanael who wrote one of the first English books on this subject. She has traveled to Europe and Canada to join others in this practice and has taught in California and Hawaii. With a B.A. in Dance Performance and a career as a professional dancer and teacher, she brings insight into the powerful healing potential of this sacred dance. She has traveled to Bulgaria,( country of origin of the dance), twice to join the international gathering of thousands of people dancing together in the mountains. She lives in Sonoma County Ca. where she holds classes in her Dance of Discovery embodied movement process.
