Reconnecting with Your Body — A Mini Healing Session

As many of you know, I’ve been in my own deep recovery journey over the past several months. This mini healing session is part of my gentle re-entry into leading group experiences — and I’m excited to share this space with you. For these first few sessions, I’ll be keeping the group small and intimate to support my own healing and to create a safe, focused environment for participants. As I continue to heal, I plan to widen the guest limit in the future.

If you RSVP but later find you’re unable to attend, please update your attendance so others have the chance to join.

For many trauma survivors, reconnecting with the body is a crucial first step in healing. Trauma often causes us to disconnect from our physical sensations as a way to cope, leaving us feeling unsafe or “out of touch” with ourselves. By coming back into the body with gentleness, we can begin to restore a sense of safety, presence, and self-trust.

This session is trauma-informed and designed to be soothing for the nervous system, using gentle, body-led practices that support regulation and calm.

In just 30 minutes, we’ll slow down and create space to:

  • Settle the mind with gentle breath awareness
  • Move through a guided body scan to notice sensations without judgment
  • Spend quiet moments in reflection or journaling to capture what your body is telling you
  • Close with grounding practices so you leave feeling calm, centered, and safe in your own skin

This session is open to all — whether you’re new to healing practices or looking to deepen your connection with yourself. Come as you are, and give yourself the gift of presence.

No prior experience is needed — just wear comfortable clothing and bring a journal or notebook if you’d like to write.

📅 Date: Sunday, Aug 31
🕒 Time: 7:00 - 7:30pm
📍 Location: Meetup
💲 Cost: Free

Group size: Intimate and cozy — spaces are limited so please update your RSVP if you can’t join.

### Core Principles of Trauma-Informed Practice

  1. Safety – Physical, emotional, and energetic safety are prioritized. People aren’t pushed to do anything that feels overwhelming.
  2. Choice – Participants have agency; they can opt in or out of any practice, change positions, or just observe without pressure.
  3. Collaboration – The facilitator and participants are in a shared experience, rather than a top-down “expert/subject” dynamic.
  4. Empowerment – Focus is on strengths, resilience, and self-trust rather than on deficits or “fixing.”
  5. Cultural Humility – Recognizing and respecting that people’s experiences, beliefs, and bodies are shaped by diverse backgrounds.

### Why It Matters for Healing

  • Many trauma survivors are hyper-aware of threat cues (tone of voice, body language, abrupt changes), so being mindful of these creates a safe space where healing can actually happen.
  • The nervous system learns safety through experience, not just logic — so a calm, respectful, choice-based space helps the body downshift out of survival mode.
  • Avoiding re-traumatization means you don’t accidentally trigger someone into reliving their trauma through overly intense, invasive, or fast-paced practices.
