Hi all!
Inspired by a friend recently sending me some healing binaural beats featuring the sweet vibrations of cabbages, I thought we could discuss sound as a means of healing this week 🥬
Do you use music to boost your mood or change your energy? Or perhaps as a relaxation tool, or something to help with clarity and focus?
Have you played around with any sound healing practices? From Tibetan singing bowls to rain song to solfeggio frequencies, there are all manner of healing tracks available on YouTube and meditation apps like Insight Timer.
How about singing? An ancient and profoundly spiritual practice, singing is a great way to shift stuck energy in the body, and can be particularly beneficial for mental health when done in groups.
But don't worry, I won't make us do any singing together! But I thought we could have a go at this Qigong sound healing practice, which uses humming as a soothing technique. It's gotten me out of many a negative headspace and panic attack, and I'm interested to see if doing it with others increases it's positive effect.
