PARENTING FROM THE HEART: An Engaging Participatory 'PlayShop' :)
Shifting how we speak and listen, to our children and ourselves, leads to healthier relationships and long-term happiness.*

(*According to an 80-year Harvard study, close relationships are the key to happiness, more so than money, fame, IQ, exercise, healthy eating, or even genes!)

Do you yearn to relate to yourself, your children, and others in your life with more compassion, clarity, and connection?

If so, join us for a fun and interactive playshop where you'll learn compassionate parenting and communication principles and practices rooted in mindfulness, self-compassion, interpersonal neurobiology, and nonviolent communication (NVC), along with supportive tools to:

  • Navigate challenging parenting situations with more calmness, clarity & compassion
  • Bring more awareness to patterns of reactivity
  • Create an environment where children feel heard, understood, valued, and supported
  • Respond to children's needs rather than (over)react to their behavior
  • Respond to self-disappointment with compassion and care rather than inner criticism
  • Remain calm when children become dysregulated and build skills to help their nervous systems settle as well
  • Cultivate more harmonious parent/child relationships, inspire more collaboration, and move through your day together with more peace, ease, and flow :)

"Between stimulus and response lies a space. In that space lie our freedom and power to choose a response. In our response lies our growth and our happiness." ~ Viktor Frankl

"Don't just do something, be there."
"Always Hear the Yes in the No"
"Use Anger as a Wake-up Call for Unmet Needs"
~ Marshall Rosenberg

"Adults who are respectful of children are not just modeling a skill or behavior, they are meeting the emotional needs of those children, thereby helping to create the psychological conditions for children to treat others respectfully." ~ Alfie Kohn

"Where did we ever get the crazy idea that in order to make children do better, first we have to make them feel worse? Think of the last time you felt humiliated or treated unfairly. Did you feel like cooperating or doing better?" ~ Jane Nelson

“Compassionate people ask for what they need. They say no when they need to, and when they say yes, they mean it. They’re compassionate because their boundaries keep them out of resentment.” ~ ‍Brené Brown

"The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers" ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
