Details

Note: We're on the ground floor. You need to take alley between the hotel and pub, and go through the left stairwell. We have the entire ground floor of the Madison Avenue Pub.

Calling all integrative health practitioners, scientists, students, biohackers, and people interested in improving their health!

Dr. Hyman, Dr. Gundry, and Dave all talk a lot about things like lectins (e.g. gluten, aquaporns), oxalates, methylation, mTOR inhibitors, autophagy, mitophagy, zombie cells, mitochodria decoupling, and senolytics. These are scientific terms that are jibberish to most people but these men use them all time. Let's unpack them and figure out what they mean to the best of our ability.

While deciphering these terms, let's also discuss what foods and supplements they recommend taking and avoiding for the sake of our gut microbiome, and physical and mental well-being.

Let us hope that after doing all of this, we will all walk away as more knowledgeable people.

The gut microbiome impacts our:

  • immune system
  • hormone levels
  • mental health
  • longevity

Let’s discuss how we can reduce our risk of developing autoimmune, heart, and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as arthritis, diabetes, and cancer.

Hippocrates of Kos (460-377 BCE) argued:

  • “All disease starts in the gut.”
  • “Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food.”
  • “The physician treats, but nature heals.”
  • “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.”
  • “Physicians are many in title but very few in reality.”

To ground our discussion, it is suggested that you check out a Dr. Mark Hyman’s discussion with Dr. Steven Gundry on the Doctor’s Farmacy podcast entitled The Science Of Your Gut Microbiome: How Healing Your Gut Can Improve Your Physical and Mental Health.
