What we’re about
This group brings together people who care about making health and care work better — through lived experience, creativity, design, technology, and thoughtful discussion.
Health Heard meetups are a space for patients, carers, clinicians, designers, technologists, researchers, and curious minds to come together and explore how people understand, communicate, and participate in their health and care.
Across our sessions, we:
- explore how people experience healthcare — especially when needs are complex, ongoing, or hard to explain
- share practical tools and approaches for being heard, preparing for appointments, and navigating services
- examine how design, digital tools, and AI are shaping health — and where they help or fall short
- learn from lived experience alongside professional practice
- discuss overlooked conditions, access barriers, and inclusion in health systems
Some meetups will be informal and discussion-based; others will be more structured, with guest speakers, workshops, or facilitated sessions. Some events will be free or low-cost, while others may be paid, depending on format, speakers, and venue. Where fees apply, these will be clearly explained in advance.
Health Heard is for anyone who wants healthcare to work better — and believes that listening, learning, and collaboration are part of how we get there.
This group is now hosted and sponsored by Health Heard, a team working on practical tools, research, and resources to help people better understand their health and be heard within today’s healthcare systems.
If you’re interested in digital health innovation, entrepreneurship, startups, and product development, you may also want to join the Digital Health Innovation & Entrepreneurship group, which focuses more directly on commercial, technical, and scaling questions. You may well find value in being part of both!
