Precision medicine: from vision to reality

Details
Elizabeth Hampson, Senior Manager (Healthcare Strategy) at Deloitte Consulting & Mark Bartlett, CEO of Geneix will tell the story of precision medicine - what the vision was, and how that vision is being achieved.
However they need some help - does anyone know of a person who has been successfully treated by precision medicine who could join them? This could be having had a test, genetic or otherwise, to understand the root cause of a disease they were suffering from or perhaps to decide which medication/ chemotherapy would be most appropriate. Please email mark@geneix.com if you do.
Every industry personalises their services and products. Just look at Google and how they use data to help us find what we want with 'suggested searches'. Healthcare is no different: providers across the world are under increasing pressure to personalize their services via precision medicine. However, is this really feasible with our current knowledge and healthcare systems?
Elizabeth & Mark, plus hopefully a precision medicine patient, will define precision medicine, highlight specific examples that are currently in use, present the initiatives that are underway around the world in the field, and tackle the areas which still need addressing to make it a widespread reality... trying to answer how long will it take for the vision of precision medicine to become a reality. One month, one year, one decade, or even longer?
We will start promptly at 6.30 pm. The timetable for the evening is:
Introduction – 5 mins
Description of Precision Medicine, - 20 mins
Present the global projects (public and industry) - 20 mins
Barriers for implementation – 20 mins
Discussion –25 mins
...followed by Baker Botts' legendary refreshments
Should be another great evening.
