Roundup for 2017 and Christmas Meetup

Details

For our last meeting of the year we have the standout presenter for me for 2017 - Andrew Nowell, CEO of Pitpatpet. When I first read that Andrew was making activity trackers for dogs I laughed. However at his presentation at the Royal Society of Medicine this year he laid out a truly superb story of how starting with the tracker, he is now a major force in a whole range of pet-related marketplaces. In short, working in the less crowded animal health market, he has identified and targeted just about every way that it is possible to make money from a health-related technology. I urge you, if you are free, to come along and listen, to think through what you can apply in your own businesses.

Following Andrew's presentation - someone has to - I thought I'd do a quick round-up of the things that have struck me as important in the last year. That will include what will follow publication of the Accelerated Access Review, changes in the NHS to enable them to buy apps, the impact of Brexit on our sector, the coming into force of the Medical Devices Regulation, preparation for the GDPR, and much more. Make sure you go into 2018 fully prepared!

Complementing this, Marie Carey at our excellent hosts, Baker Botts, is promising mince pies as a truly festive treat for us all.

Please try to arrive by 6.15 pm so we can get started promptly at 6.30 pm and have plenty of time for the mince pies and a little liquid refreshment from 8 pm to 9 pm.

I hope to see you all there...and do please reset your RSVP if you decide not to come after accepting, so Marie knows how many to cater for.

With kind regards,

Charles
