Do you plan to sell to physicians? Do you really know what doctors want?

Details
Many health startups expect that physicians will pay for access to their apps, social media, circles-of-care, booking services, etc., but when they start to try and sell to physicians, they discover otherwise. If you plan to sell to doctors, or even just engage doctors in your offering, then you need to understand their motivations and what incents them.
Last year, Dr. Matthew Hodge ( https://ca.linkedin.com/in/matthew-hodge-2486728 ) gave a very well received presentation to health ventures on physician motivations – we’ve asked him to give an update. Dr. Hodge is currently a practicing emergency physician at Mount Sinai. He has had a varied background as Chief Medical Information Officer at Cancer Care Ontario, Assistant Medical Officer of Health, Medical Officer with the World Health Organization, and Chief of the Evaluation Branch of the UN Fund for Population Activities. His academic qualifications include an MD and a PhD from McGill, as well as Masters degrees in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon and Health Care Management from Harvard.
