This unique gathering will focus on tasty, healthy, and sustainable food, featuring dishes from Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Turkey. Guests are invited to bring fresh vine leaves from their own gardens or from their neighbors', emphasizing our commitment to sustainability and community sharing. Together, we'll embark on a culinary journey, preparing and cooking a variety of traditional dishes like dolma, warak enab, and stuffed vine leaves, all bursting with flavor and nutrition. This event promises not only a feast for the palate but also a chance to engage in meaningful conversations about the rich heritage and traditions behind these beloved recipes.
As we cook and share meals, storytelling will be a central part of our celebration. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and memories associated with vine leaves and the dishes they create. If you are planning bring vine leaves from your garden, please contact us to arrange sharing them with the team before the event starts. (Also to make sure we do not have too much leaves that would go wasted!)
The event is free, but we also pledge for donation contributions to the costs of ingredients and tips for the accompanying chefs.
