Pre-colonial history? Check. Incredible architecture? Check. Internationally significant 19th-century engineering marvel? Huge check. This tour of Laclede’s Landing aims to rediscover its deep history and reframe the modern narrative of a neighborhood that’s both frozen in time and alive with new investments and changes. We’ll stand in the place that inspired W. C. Handy’s famous “St. Louis Blues,” hear stories about the beloved concert venue Mississippi Nights, and clear up the confusion about where Pierre Laclède actually landed.
