Bring a change of clothes if you want to grab something to eat afterwards. SEE Y’ALL THERE IN THE MORNING! πŸ˜ƒ

5/8/25 UPDATE: This event is still on - I spoke with Brazos Outdoor and the water level is running a bit high but people are still floating (plus the sun is scheduled to be out thru the weekend).

However, note that because the water is high they are requiring you to wear a lifejacket: you can rent one of their's for $5 (coast guard type) or bring your own. You must know how to swim as there is no ground touching in most places if you fall off. We can decide whether we want to float the upper or the lower part once we get there. OR...if you don't feel like floating DOWN the river you can always float in front of their place.

I know some of you will cancel but I, for one, am completely excited to finally see how a high-water float can be, so please...y'all come out and join me!!! KRISTIE

Join us as we try a new location for tubing on the Brazos!

We will meet at Brazos Outdoor Center located at 1191 County Road 316, Rainbow, TX 76077 on Saturday, 5/10, at 9:00 am to float the Brazos! https://www.brazosoutdoorcenter.com/

They have 2 floats depending on the water level. If the water is up (faster), we would be shuttled upriver and float down for 5.5 miles (approx 3 hours), or if the water is low (slower), we would float 3 miles downriver (approx 3 hours) and they would shuttle us back. I will call a day or 2 beforehand to let them know so the shuttle is available for our group.

The cost is $25 which includes your day pass, tube and shuttle service, and you are responsible for your own payment. It is the same cost whether you bring your own tube or not and it's an additional $10 for a cooler tube. Since the cost includes an all-day pass you can certainly spend the rest of the day there if you were so inclined. 😊

When you pull in there will be a guard shack to your left and the general store to your right. They open at 7 AM and will get you checked in at the guard shack. They accept both cash and cards. They also have inside bathroom/showers for cleaning up or changing clothes.

If everyone wanted, we could always go into Glen Rose, Granbury or Cleburne afterwards to have some fun dining together. I will provide some options as we get closer to the event or please feel free to offer up an idea. πŸ”

Please check back as we get closer as I will be keeping a close eye on the water levels and post updates here.
