Vegan Soul Food BBQ

Details
VEGAN SOUL FOOD BBQ, SUNDAY MAY 4, 6 PM. We've had a change of plans. Our presenter on May 4 will be Bre Best, who has a pop-up vegan food shop called Breezy's Plant Powered that sells mainly at Ebony & Ivory Brewing, 2300 N. Central. Bre has been a vegetarian for the past 12 years and more recently a vegan, following in the footsteps of her mother Violet Best who has since passed away. Bre is looking forward to returning to the UU church; growing up, she was part of a family praise team called the Oaks of Righteousness, which used to perform at services (singing and dancing). Bre is passionate about healthy living and is excited to share her soul food with us this Sunday.
2. ABOUT THIS POTLUCK. Please label your dish as vegan or vegetarian, and include your name, the name of the dish, and its ingredients. There will be a table to label your dish in the church lobby. Wearing a name tag, also available in the lobby, is a gift to those who may not know you. The cost to enter is $4 per person. Paying annual membership dues helps us pay our bills (rent to church, chef's stipend, dishwasher, etc). Annual dues are optional but helpful and prices will be at the front desk. Without sufficient funds we cannot operate into 2026. Because Bre is operating a new business, we will also put out a tip jar just for her. There will also be a tip jar for our dishwasher who spends two hours to clean and restore our kitchen. We hope to have books for sale and also a White Elephant booth for rummage items. Please feel free to buy or donate to this rummage table.
