HELLO MEMBERS & FRIENDS of the Vegetarian Society of East Tennessee. Our monthly potluck and cooking class will be delayed by one week, until Sunday, November 9, 6 p.m instead of the usual "first Sunday", November 2, due to a memorial service at the church that day. Our longtime friend and veggie advocate LInda Wade will demonstrate a nutritious winter soup featuring sweet potatoes, collard greens, and black eyed peas. Linda has followed a plant-based diet for 45 years, and is certified in both plant-based nutrition and plant-based cooking with the Physicians' Committee for Responsible Medicine. The cost of the event is $4 per person, or $10 per family. Paying annual dues to VSET helps us pay the bills, which include rent to the church. I hope to see many of you at the Tennessee Valley UU Church, 2931 Kingston Pike, on Sunday, November 9. For safe entry and to avoid turning off of Kingston Pike, turn onto Painter Avenue from Concord Street. Painter Avenue dead ends into the church back driveway. We still need demonstrators for February, March, April and May. A big thanks again to Jim Harb for making the world's best hummus at our October gathering!
