VSET Potluck, Cooking Class
Details
PLEASE JOIN US this coming Sunday for our next Vegetarian Society event at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston Pike. We will enjoy a potluck supper about 6 pm (with both vegan and vegetarian dishes). About 6:45 p.m. Matthew Blondell will demonstrate a curried black-eyed pea dish. Matthew is a dedicated vegan who really knows his way around in the kitchen. We look forward to his unique variation of a traditional New Year's Day dish.
1. ABOUT THIS EVENT. It's best to RSVP to Bob, the organizer, in case the event were canceled due to bad weather. Text Bob at 865-936-0081. The safe way to enter the church is via Painter Ave, which is off of Concord Street near the Tyson Park entrance. Painter dead ends into the steep back driveway of the church. Please label your dish so that folks know if your dish is vegan or vegetarian, and list its ingredients. The cost of joining the event is $4 per person, $10 per family, and free to those who are life members. Joining the Society at any level helps us pay our monthly bills. Please bring white elephant (rummage) items (and buy one or two!), and also browse our vegetarian book shop. We need one or two folks to bring large quantities of a main dish to make sure we have enough food for a crowd. There are many ways to volunteer for the Society, including clean-up at 7:30 p.m, washing table clothes, creating flyers, and more.
