PLEASE JOIN US for our "first Sunday" Vegetarian Society potluck and cooking class on Sunday, May 3, 6 p.m at our regular meeting spot, the Tennessee Valley UU Church, 2931 Kingston Pike. Our potluck will feature both vegan and vegetarian options and will begin shortly after six. At 6:45 p.m. Heidi Lacy Olive will demonstrate how to make vegan enchiladas, just in time for the Mexican "Cinco de Mayo" holiday next week. Heidi loves to cook and has her own vegan catering business, Olive My Heart. The cost to enter is $4 per person, or $10 per family. RSVP to Bob at 865-936-0081 Be sure to label your dish as vegan or vegetarian, with your name and the ingredients. Becoming a member of our Society helps us rent our space, pay our bills, and continue our mission in the coming years. General membership is $25 per person annually, or $20 for seniors and students.

2. SUMMER PLANS TO BE ANNOUNCED. For the past four summers we have enjoyed picnics at the Arnstein Jewish Community Center for our "first Sunday" events, with a chance to swim in the pool. We hope to continue this tradition but we do not yet have a contract to meet there. Please stay in touch by reading our newsletters. My contact info is below.

3. NOW SCHEDULING FOR OUR NEXT SEASON. I am now scheduling cooks to do vegan cooking demonstrations on the following "first Sundays" of our next cooking school season. Let me know if you are interested in committing to one of the following dates: October 4, November 1, December 6, January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2.

4. VEGGIE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. We need a volunteer dishwasher this Sunday after our event. We need a graphic artist to create posters and flyers. If you can do these jobs or any others to help our 40-year old Society, please get in touch.
