Heard Nature Photographers Club Meeting - "Macro on the Wing"

Details
"Macro on the Wing" will reveal the strategies, equipment, and techniques Jose Madrigal uses for capturing tiny insects in flight. He’ll explain how he finds “cooperative" subjects and plans his approach, along with choosing the right camera settings and equipment. He’ll also compare the pros and cons of using natural light vs flash for flight macro. Prepare yourself to learn how to “freeze” tiny, fast-moving critters in crisp detail.
Our July speaker is Jose Madrigal, a nature photographer from Houston, TX. In 2018, he discovered his niche when he acquired his first macro lens. His photos have been featured in numerous publications including Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine. Jose’s favorite way to share his work is via artistic prints that he sells in person at various events and art festivals. He also enjoys teaching other aspiring photographers his unique skill of capturing insects in flight, and has taught in-person workshops and webinars for brands like B&H Photo, and NiSi.
Our club meets every second Saturday of the month (10:00 a.m.) at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place, McKinney, TX, in the main building (in Laughlin Hall). Visitors are always welcome! For additional information about our group, please visit our website www.heardnaturephotographers.com .
