Lens Compression - A Visual Effect Associated with Telephoto Lenses.
Details
Lisa Langell loves creating nature photography and art that is inspired by her background in psychology and design. When Lisa isn’t having fun making photographs, she’s thriving on teaching photography — most often in Alaska! Her humility and passion for both shines through in how she provides memorable, fun, and educational experiences that enrich, invigorate and expand photographers’ minds in wonderful ways.
About Lisa's April 11 presentation:
We'll be bringing Lisa’s engaging and interactive photography education through a live Zoom session at our April 11 meeting to talk about lens compression. When photographed properly, the subject's foreground and background appear closer together in an image than they are to the naked eye. The effect is created by using various camera distances and positions when capturing an image. By doing so, it can make things in the frame seem closer or larger than they really are. The results can be uniquely beautiful, quirky, impactful, surreal and atypical from the traditional images of landscapes, wildlife and portraits.
This session will introduce you to the techniques, equipment and scenes needed to create uniquely compelling, artistic images that move your work into a realm far beyond the classic and cliché.
Our meeting is in person although Lisa's presentation will be via Zoom. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions, too. And no, this time she won't be presenting from the banks of the Kenai River in Alaska!
