What we’re about
The Heart of Maryland Mens Chorus is the performing chorus of the Patapsco Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chorus performs in local events, including our annual show and the popular Lasagna and Barbershop Dinner. In February, you'll find us out delivering singing Valentines in quartets.. In December, you can find us at at various events in the Catonsville and Ellicott City area, singing Christmas carols to ring in the season. The holiday season is when we invite the community to join us for our Holiday Chorus.
In addition to local performances, the chorus competes at the division and district level within the Mid-Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society, winning several championships over the years. The chorus has also competed at the Buckeye International, singing with some of the best choruses and quartets in the country. Several quartets are active within the chapter, performing locally and competing on the contest stage.
We rehearse every Tuesday night in Catonsville, MD from 7:30-10:00 pm (and host an afterglow at a pub next door afterwards)!
If you're interested in visiting a rehearsal, you're invited to come check us out - we'll get you assigned a vocal part and hand you a guestbook! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to webmaster@heartofmaryland.org or reach out through our website at https://www.heartofmaryland.org/dbpage.php?pg=contact.
We look forward to meeting and making music with you!
