Schweitzer Brentwood Library, 2214 S Brentwood Ave Springfield 65804, Springfield, MO, US### Discover the Soul-Cleansing Power of Writing Poetry!
Are you seeking a creative outlet where you can develop and refine your writing skills while connecting with like-minded individuals? Hearts & Minds Poetry Club is a private social community in Springfield dedicated to the belief that there is more to life than not being miserable. We utilize poetry as a means of expressing a wide range of emotions, from sadness to happiness and from anger to serenity.
Whether you are a seasoned writer or have never picked up a pen, our circle is a safe space to explore your inner landscape and build interpersonal trust with your neighbors.### What to Expect: A Low-Commitment, High-Impact Opportunity
We know life is busy, which is why we meet just once per month for a deep-dive, 2.5-hour integrated session. This schedule is designed to be a low-commitment, high-impact way for community members of all ages 18+ to foster optimal flourishing without the stress of a weekly obligation.
Our first meeting at the Library Station will follow our "simultaneously relaxed and structured" format:*Educational Insights: Learn the basics of Subjective Well-Being (SWB)—the scientific study of thinking and feeling that your life is going well.
** *Creative Inspiration: **We’ll "Lead with Examples," exploring 4–5 powerful poems that illustrate the science of happiness.
*** The Share Circle (Our Primary Focus): **We lean heavily into our sharing time, providing an open floor for you to read original work or favorite verses that resonate with you.###** How to Prepare**
All members of our Facebook group are encouraged to submit poems they love ahead of time! If you’d like the words of your poem displayed on the room’s screen during the** Share Circle**, you can submit them via our Airtable form before or even during the meeting.
**NOTE: **You can submit poetry written by yourself or another author- simply indicate who the author is when you fill out the form.
