Heavy Legs Social Climbing/Bouldering
Details
Bouldering at Red Goat Climbing Wall in York, a few minutes walk from the city centre. We'll meet outside the front entrance, but if you arrive later, just sign up and make your way in.
If you've never climbed before, I am able to supervise up to two people without them going through an induction. If two non-registered climbers are already signed up, then anyone else will need to go to Red Goat for an induction ahead of time. If you do, then you'll not need to be signed in by someone else in future! Trust me, climbing is a bit addictive, so you'll probably want to come back
Entry is £10, plus shoe hire at £3.
Red Goat can get busy, but its open quite late, and serves food so there's no rush to go anywhere else after.
As noted in the group, the conversation isn't restricted to talking about music, and if you aren't into heavy music at all, you're still welcome!
Parking can be a little tricky. There is the road behind Red Goat (Redeness St) which you can park on after 5pm, but spaces are limited. The Layerthorpe Asda across the road from the entrance has parking spaces, but an hour and a half maximum stay (enough if you just want to climb, probably not if you want to stay for food too).
There's a few pay and display places and some on street parking within 10 minutes walk, let me know if you need help finding any.
Note: Red Goat don't have lockers, so only bring what you're happy to either leave in a shoe cubby, or can carry with you.
This event is in no way affiliated with Red Goat, it's just a good venue to meet, climb and chat
