Not Another Smart Contract: Tokenizing Assets with Hedera Consensus Service

The new Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) has many potential uses. One the LaunchBadge team alongside many others are excited to explore is using it to create and manage non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Effectively tokenizing assets without writing a single Solidity smart contract.

In this talk, we’ll hear from two members from the LaunchBadge team, CTO Ryan Leckey as well as Lead Software Engineer Austin Bonander.
They will share a simple trading platform they built using Hedera Consensus Service alongside the Kabuto mirror node API to trade two kinds of NFTs. By using HCS instead of a smart contract the LaunchBadge team can drastically improve their performance and provide a much cheaper solution.
