About us
Hey, welcome to Hedonism Bike Rides!
The format is simple: 30-40 km relaxed bike ride, followed by an evening in a saunapark.
We ride through Brandenburg at a pace that lets us look around when something looks good, stop for coffee and lunch, or have a dip in the lake.
We finish at a Therme to soak for a few hours after the ride.
We go out roughly once or twice a month, on weekends, mostly on flat terrain through forests, lakes, small towns and villages. The routes and the Therme change each time.
About the organizer
I’m Tim, I moved to Berlin not long ago, and discovered that:
- The nature of Brandenburg is incredible and perfect for relaxed bike rides.
- German saunaparks are amazing.
- Making new friends as an adult isn’t easy. I’m self-employed, work from home, and for me, socializing doesn’t happen naturally.
So I decided to create this group to do more of the stuff I like, and meet new people at the same time.
The concept
The goal is to create a small group of people who spend enough time together, having a shared experience. That’s a precondition of friendship, like when we were kids.
Each event has a maximum of five or six people with a gender balance. Small groups are easier to travel with on a train. Small groups have real conversations. Small groups notice if someone is struggling. Small groups can eventually become friends.
Who this is for
Casual cyclists who ride occasionally and are comfortable doing 40 km without it being a big deal. Not athletes, not beginners either.
The goal is to finish the ride with a pleasant tiredness in your body, not exhaustion, and not mild inconvenience. Somewhere in between.
Co-creation
This isn’t a commercial group. I'll plan the route, the Therme, find the interesting spots, good lakes, and worthwhile detours. But this isn't a guided tour, and I'm not a service provider.
Come with the mindset that you're contributing to the group, not consuming.
If someone's knee starts giving out, we help each other. If someone knows a better lunch spot, speak up. If someone has a puncture, we will all stop and help change the tube. This is part of the experience.
A few practical things
Lights. We usually head back after dark. Make sure your front and rear lights are charged or have fresh batteries before you leave home. Don't leave this to the morning of. Spare batteries are also a good idea.
Helmets. Sometimes we use dedicated bike lanes or quiet forest paths, sometimes public roads. Things happen. I strongly encourage you to wear a helmet.
Spare tube. Take one, just in case.
FKK. Most saunaparks we visit are textile-free (FKK). If this is genuinely not for you, please don't register for those events. You won't enjoy it, and the awkwardness will affect everyone else's day too. There are plenty of cycling-only groups in Berlin.
Sauna ticket. For most saunas, I strongly recommend pre-booking, especially on weekends. I'll share the link and the date as soon as the event is confirmed. Please book your own ticket early. Prices vary by location but expect roughly €30–40 for a half-day entry. Each person pays individually, there's no group booking.
Transport ticket. You'll need a ticket that covers bikes on public transit. If you have a Deutschland-Ticket, you still need a separate bicycle add-on, either for Berlin ABC or VBB net. Either way, sort this before the trip. Inspectors are not rare.
See you on the road!

Bike ride + Spa #1 (Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Sauna Resort and Spa)
# Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA
Route: Königs Wusterhausen → Bestensee → Storkow → Wendisch Rietz
Distance: 38 km, mostly flat (70m elevation total)
Mixed terrain. About 23 km asphalt, the rest gravel paths and forest tracks.
Meeting point: Berlin Ostkreuz, RE7 direction Senftenberg, departure 09:02
Back in Berlin: ~21-22:00
We meet at Ostkreuz, take the RE7 to Königs Wusterhausen and start the ride from there. If the RE gets cancelled, then we will use S-Bahn with a connection in Grunau.
The first section heads south through the Dahme-Seenland lake district. Flat terrain, a mix of bike paths and quiet forest/countryside roads.
Near Bestensee, we pass the Großer Tonteich. If the weather holds, we can stop and swim. It's a small lake, not well-known, the kind of place you wouldn't find unless you were riding past it.
From there, the route continues through pine forest and along the edge of farmland.
In Storkow, we will stop for a lunch and to see the castle.
We arrive at SATAMA on Scharmützelsee in the afternoon. The sauna park sits directly on the lake. In my opinion, it's one of the cosiest saunaparks in Brandenburg. Nine saunas, outdoor terraces, a pool, hammocks, and the direct access to the lake! We'll be there for several hours.
At around 20-21 pm we board the RB36 train in Wendisch Rietz and change for RE7 in Königs Wusterhausen. Plan for arriving back in Berlin around 21-22:00.
Tickets
If you have the Deutschland-Ticket, you're fine and will only need the 24-hour bike ticker for VBB.
Otherwise you'll need one Berlin ABC ticket, one VBB Gesamtnetz ticket and a 24-hour bicycle add-on for the VBB network (~€7.50)
Bike
Trekking bikes and city bikes with wide tyres work. Road bikes, fixies, and rental bikes don't.
What to bring
- Water and snacks
- Sauna towels, bathrobe, slippers (you can also rent it on-site)
