"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to." - J. R. R. Tolkien
Let's explore some region more distant to Heidelberg. We invite you to a journey around Anweiler am Trifels in the Palatinate Forest.

We start with the ascent towards Trifels castle. Not only will we have the opportunity to experience a medieval castle, but we can also enjoy the magnificent view for the elevated position. The next highlight on our path, Rehbergturm, will grant us an even better position to view into the far distance. While we make our way back to Anweiler am Trifels, we will pass by several rock formations of red sandstone and enjoy the pleasant weather in the forest.
Our meeting point is the parking site P1 close to Anweiler am Trifels. https://maps.app.goo.gl/iXWZs9AkSpeFhxe99
We recommend to travel from Mannheim or Heidelberg by car. Please make use of the comments to organize travel buddies, if necessary. Of course, it is also possible to use public transport as is convenient to you.
Along the way, we may find some places for a break. Make sure to bring some water and provisions with you.
Hope to see you on Sunday!
