#4 The Art of Impermanence and Life’s Fleeting Beauty

Details

In this gathering we turn toward the land of impermanence, where change is the essence of all things, the ground from which new possibilities arise. Joy and sorrow, light and shadow - the contrasts that shape our human experience -gain depth and meaning through impermanence.
At the edge of this eternal dance of infinite possibilities, fear melts away and reveals a quiet joy when seen through the lens of life’s interconnectedness. By softening our desires, loosening our grip, and opening to the current of life, we learn to rest in the luminous presence of being.

Our journey will lead us across landscapes of art -from Impressionism to Abstract Expressionism, from Performance Art to ephemeral works shaped by nature itself. Through these forms we will discover impermanence in its many guises: fleeting beauty, cycles of decay and renewal, and the graceful art of creating without holding on.
From ancient myths of the turning seasons to the voices of modern writers -Hermann Hesse, Pema Chödrön, Rainer Maria Rilke, Rebecca Solnit, Thich Nhat Hanh - we will weave stories that illuminate the ever-changing rhythm of life.

Each gathering follows the spiral’s rhythm, reaching outward into shared exploration and gently turning inward toward the depths of the self. Through a mindfulness meditation, we will touch the heart of impermanence directly -resting with the flow of breath, thoughts, and emotions as they arise and dissolve. In stillness, we discover the quiet freedom of interconnectedness, and the lightness that comes from meeting life exactly as it is.
