ABOUT HELENSBURGH AND CARDROSS WOMEN'S COFFEE AND CONNECTION CLUB (OVER 40s)
Welcome to Helensburgh and Cardross Women's Coffee and Connection Club (over 40s). The Club is a friendly and informal coffee, connection and social club for women over 40 in the Helensburgh, Cardross, Lomond and Peninsula areas.
Our mission to CREATE MORE CONNECTION, MAKE NEW FRIENDS and REDUCE LONELINESS.
I started the Club in 2025 as a way of connecting with other women, networking, making new friends and helping to reduce the sense of isolation and loneliness that many women experience.
The Club will involve a range of social events including coffee mornings, lunch, supper, drinks, days and nights out, theatre and museum outings, books, nature and wildlife, walks and much more. Events will take place in and around Helensburgh and Cardross with some events/outings elsewhere too.
The Club is for women over 40. While it's great to network with women under 40, men and those who identify with other genders, I am looking to connect with women around my own age. There's plenty of other groups and clubs for those who don't meet our Club criteria.Events will go ahead if there are enough people attending.
I volunteer my own time and energy to run the Club and expect courtesy regarding cancellations and attendance at events. So, please only join the group or purchase a ticket if you plan on actually attending some events/an event. Events will take place at weekends, some evenings and some day time.
Some events will be planned far in advance and some will be impromptu, so look out for those too.Ideas for events and gatherings are always welcome, so please do go ahead and make suggestions. My hope is that we will meet monthly initially; but there is scope for more frequent get-togethers too, should there be enough interest.
I am very much in favour of supporting local and small business so, where possible, events will be hosted by local and small businesses. So, if you're a local business such as a pub, cafes, restaurant, venues or activities hub who can host our events or offer small discounts please get in touch to find out how we can support each other.

** GROUP RULES **
The group is run voluntarily in my spare time, so it's important to run things efficiently and that members turn up to events when they say they will and avoid cancelling at the last minutes. There's no point in organsing events if no-one turns up or keeps cancelling. With that in mind, we ask Members to keep the following Group Rules in mind:
- We have a '3 strikes' policy, like many other groups. So, if you cancel or 'no show' more than 3 times, unfortunately, you will be removed from the group. The group thrives on people turning up to the events they say they will be attending.
- If you can no longer attend, please cancel your booking as soon as you know. There's 2 reasons for this: 1) there may be people on the mailing list as some events only have a certain number of spaces available and it's only fair to let others have a chance to attend if you can't make it and; 2) events only work if people turn up. No-one wants to be sitting there on their own. So, please adjust your booking accordingly if you can no longer make it, with ample notice. We also ask you don't just not turn up - let us know you're not coming.
- Treat others with respect and integrity: We value a welcoming and inclusive environment where all Members feel respected and interactions are guided by kindness and fairness.
- Use a profile picture that shows your face: This helps keep the group open and honest, fostering a sense of trust and connection among Members. It also helps the group to be as safe as possible. If you have no photo when you request to join, unfortunately, youre request to join will NOT be approved.
- Only women over 40 can join this group. If you don't meet the criteria, sorry, but there will be plenty of other groups you can join.
These Group Rules ensure that the group stays active and alive and gives everyone the opportunity to make new connections and friends. We feel this is a fair and respectful ask of group members. Thanks for your co-operation.
