📜 Refurbishing Old PDFs for Comfortable Reading by Mikael Koponen
I have a bunch of old PDF articles which I’d like to read on my iPad. Unfortunately, many are poorly scanned and have weird layouts. While modern OCR libraries are more than enough for machine readability, they still make too many mistakes for an enjoyable reading flow. In this talk, we will go through my approach to automated document reconstruction. We’ll look at the trade-offs between different techniques, evaluating cost, effort, and accuracy in the attempt to make these documents readable again.
⚡️My year at JetBrains by Alex Grönholm
I'll share my experiences working as a PyCharm developer over the course of 2025.
