- Abstract: In this talk, we will explore our experiences with Kafka at Wolt. We'll offer a bird's eye view of our processes for deploying, managing, and observing Kafka at scale. Furthermore, we'll highlight some challenges faced when running Kafka in Wolt, sharing the obstacles and key learnings we've accrued over the years.
- 18:40 - 19:10 Apache Kafka tiered storage: why and how?
- Speaker: Ivan Yurchenko, Senior Staff Software Engineer at Aiven
- Abstract: This talk will define the scalability problems of the pre-3.6 Kafka and showcase the benefits of the Tiered storage for Kafka users. We'll then delve into the details on how tiered storage is composed and the challenges that we faced when building the initial plugin for AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage. If you're using Apache Kafka and want to understand how tiered storage could increase your scaling opportunities while, at the same time, reducing costs, this talk is for you.
