I'm happy to announce that after the slumber during the COVID times, our group is starting to run meetups again! 🎉

Welcome to the 9th meetup of Helsinki Java User Group!

This time we're hosted by RELEX Solutions.

We'll have two talks:

1. "JVM languages - Gotta catch 'em all!" by Iikka Niinivaara (RELEX Solutions)

We all know Java is not the only language available on the JVM. But how does one end up embedding five of the six most popular languages in one (production) project? What is the interoperability between these languages like? Does it even work?

2. "Machine learning in the JVM" by Antti Räisänen (RELEX Solutions)

At RELEX, we’re using machine learning applications to predict food consumption and prevent waste. Antti reveals how we’re doing that, and dives deeper into our Demand AI, a high-performance demand forecasting algorithm running in the JVM.

The meetup venue is Redi neuvottelee. It is located in REDI shopping mall in Kalasatama on the 2nd floor, right next to Fööni, the free flight wind tunnel. It is reachable with metro or buses. You can find it easily by entering from Hermannin rantatie, taking the escalator to the 2nd floor, turning left and then left again, and then walking past Fööni. There will be a RELEX sign at the door.

Doors open at 17:30, the first talk starts at 18:00.
