What we’re about
rootUP is a community for novice and experienced BIPOC interested in land stewardship practices (ie, farming, gardening, aquaponics, seedkeeping, beekeeping, “plant parenthood”, etc) to learn and grow together and help others identify supportive resources in the community for learners from marginalized backgrounds.
Allies are welcome but this group centers the needs of Black women, QTBIPOC and learners of color from gender minority groups in order to work towards a more equitable food system for all.
Meetings will take place within the 5 boroughs and Nassau County, depending on the activities planned, attendance, and venue availability.
Activities will range from social/networking events, educational, to virtual events
