The pick of the week is “Frenchman Mountain”!

Beginning:
We’ll ease in briefly, then get right into a steady uphill. The trail is straightforward, but the ground is loose from the start, so you’ll be finding your footing as the incline builds.

Middle:
This is the grind. Steeper, rockier, and a bit of a mental test. You’ll likely hit a false summit that feels like the top—it’s not. Stay patient, keep your pace, and chip away at it.

End:
The final push opens up to big, panoramic views that make it all click. Then comes the way down—loose, controlled, and not something to rush. Trekking poles really help here.

Minimal shade the whole way, so come ready for sun and bring more water than you think you’ll need.

Tough, honest hike. Worth it.

Forecast: 87°F, 0% rain, 9 mph winds
Amount of water to bring: 3-4L

ALL TRAILS REPORT:

Distance 4.2 mi
Elevation 2,099 ft
